     Prayers of Confession

     The Lord’s Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer (Unison):

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.    Amen.

Serving Holy Communion Tonight by Intinction: Tonight, we will serve Communion primarily by intinction. Participants come forward in front of the Chancel – first, to receive a wafer [the Bread] and, second, to dip it into the Cup. Worshipers will not drink from the common Cup but simply dip a wafer into the Cup.

Special Provisions: (a) Worshipers coming forward who prefer not to take by intinction may – after receiving a wafer – take from the Lord’s Table by Dr. Lifer an individual, clear plastic cup filled with the fruit of the vine.

(b) Bringing the elements to the Choir and to other worshipers unable to walk forward. Elders will be bring Communion Service Trays with wafers and individual portions of the Cup to (a) Choir members in the Chancel and, afterward, (b) any other worshippers who indicate that they are unable to come forward.

Following the concluding music, please depart from the Sanctuary in silence into this night on which we especially remember Jesus our Lord and what He has done for us and for our salvation.

Thank you for joining us in this Tenebrae” Service– moving toward darkness, in accordance with the solemnity of Holy Thursday evening.

The Paschal Triduum (three-day) conclusion to Holy Week begins this evening, when Friday begins according to Jewish reckoning of days. Thus, even as we leave silently in remembrance and meditation tonight, we look ahead to rejoicing with you on Resurrection Sunday morning here at FPC. Our Traditional Easter Sunday Services will begin at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

You are also invited to our Easter Sunrise Service & Breakfast beginning at 6:30 a.m. – at Robinson Lake (weather permitting), or on the front steps of the Sanctuary.
