Visiting with Us?

We warmly welcome you to our worship of God this Lord’s Day.  Please complete a FIRSTConnect Card and place it in the Offering … or in a FIRSTConnect Box in the entranceways.

To learn more about faith in Jesus Christ, as well as about church membership, your spiritual growth, and ways to learn & serve at FPC – please speak to Pastor Lifer following the service, or call him this week at the church office. You may also send a message to him via email ( ).

Join the Choir in June!

The month of June is a great time to sing in the choir for several reasons...

1) We'll be singing some hymns this month.  Chances are, you know the music already!

2) You can still sit with your families after we sing in the service.

3) No choir robes this month.  Come as you are!

4) No Wednesday rehearsals this month either.

5) No long term commitment.  Just join us for the Sundays in June.

If you're interested, we'd love to see you Sunday morning at 10:30 in the choir room on the 3rd floor for a quick run through of the music before the service. Questions? Email Craig Aarhus at

Having trouble hearing the service?  We have portable units that are connected directly to our sound system for optimum audio. Please see an usher about these devices!

The Sanctuary Flowers are given to the Glory of God by members of our FPC congregation to the Glory of God and to enhance our worship of God on this Pentecost Sunday.

Please join us in extending sympathies to, and prayers for God’s comfort to – Allison and Ben Jackson, Allison’s “maternal” [side] grandmother, Judy Stanislaw, and family – following the death this past Tuesday night (June 4) on Allison’s “maternal “ [side] grandfather, Pete Stanislaw. Pete died in Judy’s and his home in The Villages, Florida, but the Memorial Service will be this Saturday in their longstanding hometown of Bennington, Vermont. Ben and Allison will be traveling to and meeting with the extended family this week for the service.

Called Congregational Meeting Today, at 11:00 a.m.

Immediately following the Announcements before the 11 a.m. Worship Service today, June 9, in the Sanctuary, there will be a Called Congregational Meeting for the Primary Purpose of the Congregational Election of Two (2) At-Large Representatives to the 2019-2020 Nominating Committee. The slate of candidates presented by the Nominating Committee includes the following candidates: Richard Blackbourn; Pat Bryan; Mike Dunlap; Rubye Guest; and Jane Vemer.

There will also be a report from the Assistant Pastor Nominating [“Search”] Committee – on Rev. Joe Nasvytis, who has been called as our new Assistant Pastor for Family Ministries.

Looking ahead to NEXT month…

BEGINNING July 7 and Continuing July 14, 21 & 28

We will have a single, unified Lord’s Day Worship Service beginning at 10:00 a.m. each of the four Sundays of July (7, 14, 21 and 28).  In addition, our Children’s and Youth Sunday School will NOT meet during July – to provide a “sabbatical” to our small number of volunteers for Children’s and Youth Sunday School; however, we will provide childcare during the 10:00 am services in July.

Thanksgiving for God’s Call of Rev. Joe Nasvyitis and Family to FPC!

We thank God for his call of Rev. Nasvytis to FPC, and pray for Joe and his wife Ann, as well as their daughters – Grace (10) and Sophie (9) – as they prepare for their move to Starkville in the second half of June. In addition to the family’s move from San Diego to Starkville later in June, Joe will also be looking ahead to preparing for a transition to the EPC from the Christian Reformed Church (“CRC”). In 2015, Joe was ordained in the CRC denomination. At FPC, Joe will help lead our Family Ministries & Discipleship, as well as assisting Pastor Lifer in a full range of pastoral ministries, worship leadership, and teaching.
