FPC Re-opens for Public Worship on Sunday!
We Will Rededicate Our Sanctuary
for the Public Worship of God on Sunday, June 7,
with our 9:30 & 11:00 a.m. Lord’s Day Services. All who are physically and spiritually prepared – join us on the Hill, as we follow God’s command for us to BE the BODY, gathered in his Spirit for corporate worship.
The Sanctuary Building has been professionally cleaned and sanitized, and we will also follow a number of other recommended protocols each Sunday this summer. For example:
We will practice “social distancing” in Sanctuary seating and in refraining from physically close interaction. [We will maintain every-other-pew seating, and individuals and/or household groups attending will follow further social distancing guidelines & protocols. Consequently, we will limit ourselves to well under 50% seating capacity in the Sanctuary. ]
We are eliminating common-use printed materials from our summer 2020 services. [There will be no paper bulletins, and there are books or materials in the pews racks. Bring your own Bible or PDA with Bible app, and we will also project primary Scriptures, as well as announcements and liturgy notes, on a screen in the Sanctuary.]
We will sanitize “touch points” after the 9:30 a.m. Service.
We are requiring the use of facemasks for worshipers at the 9:30 a.m. Service and encouraging the use of facemasks at the 11:00 a.m. Service. [We will provide masks for worshipers who request them.]
There will be no Sunday School or Fellowship food & gathering. However, we will provide babysitting for infant, toddler, and preschool-age children of parents who are attending a given worship service.
However, we encourage all who have health concerns to “stay safe at home” and continue to join us online for worship. Persons who are ill with, have recently been exposed to, OR have significant medical vulnerability to the COVID-19 virus (or to other infectious diseases) should seek medical care and self-quarantine. Please let us know of your health concerns and prayer requests!
Further Important Updates for Sunday:
Online viewers of FPC Worship – Our broadcasts may be posted closer to 11:30 than 11:00 a.m. Because of our transition to public worship and some other transitions with our production capabilities, our goal for the broadcasts of the June 7 and June 14 worship services on FPC Starkville Facebook and FPC Starkville EPC YouTube will be 11:30 a.m. on each of those respective Sundays (rather than 11:00 a.m.). Please be patient with us during these transition weeks, including as we await the arrival of some new equipment. We hope that, within a few weeks, we will be live streaming each Sunday’s 11:00 a.m. Service (by or before 11:00 each Sunday). In the meantime, for June 7 and 14, our goal will be to post and premiere each Sunday’s broadcasts by 11:30 a.m. (while we will also hope to beat that goal and to post the broadcasts earlier).
Worshipers Coming to FPC’s Sanctuary – Please use either (a) the “front doors” or (b) the rear/North-side door of the Sanctuary Building. The other doors will be locked, and we will avoid activity in the Fellowship Hall, saving it for use if and when needed for overflow seating. Worshipers with physical disabilities should use one of the ramps leading to the North-side Door and then the elevator just inside that door. [Please see the attached diagram of the Sanctuary Building and of the doorways that will be open for entrance.]
